6:50 a.m. Matt takes calls from listeners.
7:05 a.m. Matt talks about Louisiana Governor and Republican Presidential Candidate Bobby Jindal’s comments about Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump at the National Press Club in Washington. He also takes calls from listeners.
7:35 a.m. Matt pauses for a moment of silence in honor of the victims from the September 11th terrorist attacks. He continues to take calls from listeners.
8:05 a.m. Matt is joined on the show by Reverend Dr. Otis Moss III, Senior Pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ, and they talk about Trinity’s upcoming revival.
8:20 a.m. Matt is joined on the show by Donna Leak of Leak and Sons Funeral Home and School Teacher Ursula Stewart-Walls for Leak and Sons’ “Shining Star Segment.” This segment honors teachers who excel at their schools.
8:35 a.m. Aysha Butler, President of R.A.G.E (Resident Association of Greater Englewood), joins Matt McGill to discuss the latest news surrounding Chicago’s Large Lots program. Matt is also joined on the show by Sharon O’Keefe, President of The University of Chicago Medical Center, and Karen Teitelbaum, President and CEO of Sinai Health System, and they talk about the new Level 1 trauma center that is coming to Chicago’s South and Southwest Side communities.
