Talk it Out with Maze and Monique Thursday 7pm - 10pm Maze Jackson Maze is currently President of Compass Public Affairs, LLC and a lobbyist with The Roosevelt Group. Prior to starting Compass Public Affairs, LLC, Maze Jackson spent the previous 15 years as Founder/President/CEO of Universal MazJac Enterprises, Inc. a full service urban advertising, marketing, and promotions agency. In addition to running his own agency, Maze has also become a noted campaign “fixer” and political strategist, working on some of the most challenging campaigns, from local to statewide races. Most recently, Maze served as Statewide Field Director for Illinois Governor Pat Quinn. Maze also spent 5 years in corporate America serving as the Director of Urban Marketing for Montgomery, Zukerman, and Davis where he oversaw the marketing budget of the Coca-Cola Bottling Companies of Chicago, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Maze grew up in “The Brook” (as Bolingbrook is affectionately known,) a suburb of Chicago. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and currently resides in Chicago. Maze counts cooking, Fantasy Football, and photography as his hobbies. Maze is the proud father of two, Milan (daughter) and Mazonne II (son). Monique Spence Monique has always enjoyed connecting with people and making an impact in their lives, she is the very definition of a “people person.” She has made her niche in life and business by being herself and helping others realize their full potential. Monique uses her life, business and personal experiences to speak on topics helpful to everyone. Her style is effective whether she is speaking to business owners, about relationships or mentoring teens. Monique’s discussions are fun and entertaining while being full of content which the shares through her life’s experiences. A native of Chicago, IL, Monique attended Whitney Young High School, then Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, FL. Monique has experienced a successful career in the Music & Entertainment arena working for major Record Labels and Music Distribution companies, including WEA Distribution (Warner/Elektra/Atlantic), EMI Music Distribution, Sony Music Distribution and lastly SonyBMG Music Entertainment. Although Monique has always had an entrepreneurial drive, it was working between the corporate world and with the independent retail community where she identified her passion. She fell in love with the heart of the individuals who run all kinds of small businesses and that led to her eventual career path & marketing company, Brand You Inc. She believes strongly there are small yet key tweeks that take a business to the next level, allowing a small business to function with a presence like a major corporation. Spence never knew fashion was part of her calling, however another of her endeavors, Redefine The Tee and has produced Fashion Staples in closets of women all around the world. Redefine The Tee is most well known for The First Lady High Tee (Tribute to Michelle Obama, fellow Whitney Young Alum) and the National Success of the Michael Jackson Tribute Tee in Macy’s & Online . Monique works with a very broad client base to produce their ideas & is happiest when interacting with so many different people, their passions, their ideas & bringing them to life one Tee at a Time! Once in the music business & at radio stations working for others; the table has turned; most recently Monique Spence has found her passion on the other side of the Mic. Many that know her would tell you she’s been a “Personality” all of these years & always has something to say! Now she is officially an On-Air Radio Personality at the oldest black owned radio station in the country, WVON 1690AM broadcasting LIVE in Chicago, IL. Between the radio show & the online chatter, Talk it Out with Maze & Monique is a breeding ground for great conversation amongst a trendy urban audience ages 25-49.
